I remember when I started Sointheknow.com, it came from a bigger place than just “let me take outfit photos and post them.” I’ve always loved the concept of giving back, empowering others, collaborating and creating for the greater good. I know I didn’t get where I am today by myself. Yes, I’ve worked hard, but I’ve had invaluable friends and mentors throughout my life, and my way of thanking them is to pass on the torch and help others.

So if you’re reading this remember that the choice is ours. We can either turn the other cheek and selfishly go about our days or stop and make a difference in someone’s life. And I’m not talking about giving money to the homeless dude on the street. Everyone has a special something, a skill, voice, advice, thought, presence, energy, and so on. Sometimes helping someone can just mean letting them pick your brain, cry on your shoulder, and other times all it takes is a considerate phone call, a smile, or shining a positive light on a negative situation.

So in honor of this amazing charity organization, The Starving Artist Project, if you know someone who’s pursuing an exciting career in the arts, share this information with them. Because you can be the example, the reason, and the inspiration behind changing someone’s life.
