Chambray, isn’t denim, but looks just like it. It’s made from lightweight double-ply fabric and has officially made its mark in the fashion industry. Styling it is similar to styling denim- which is one of those things that never get old, but it can get a little played out if your go-to pairing just so happens to be a plain t-shirt all the time. Hence, a chambray shirt dress is a multipurpose queen’s best ally because it can be worn as both- a dress and a t-shirt. I could literally pair this dress in so many ways, the possibilities are nearly endless. I narrowed it down to show you how to wear a chambray shirt dress, 3 different ways but of course, you can switch it up, add and subtract as your personal style desires.
Is it just- me or do really artsy people wear vests? I wanted to create an artsy look that was still chic and night-out in the city-worthy so I combined the chambray shirt dress with a classic halter denim vest and kept it glitzy with a double layered chunky crystal piece and a pair of simple black ankle strap heels. For all my cold weather peeps, just add a pair of tights, boots and a coat and you’ll be ready to take on the frosty air, in style.
If you’ve been reading my blog posts then I don’t even have to explain this one. For all you newbies, my name is Nayri and I’m a floral-aholic. It just never gets old and I just can’t get enough (how Depeche mode was that?). Florals have a way of getting me in a cheery mood and I always love the challenge of creating new outfits with them. Anyway, I should get back to the look… I paired this outfit with yellow neon sandal heels to brighten the blues, and a mid-sized envelope bag to create a bold color contrast and bring out the different hues of the skirt. You can do this with any color accessory you have in your closet. Just try to stay away from another shade of blue to prevent color overdose.
As long as you don’t have to wear sweats or a uniform, you can pull off this look at work and be a badass fashionista while you’re at it. I’m wearing my favorite pacsun jeans here. I paired it with a blush blazer and chunky necklace. Listen up, if you can’t wear jeans to work, that’s totally fine. Switch the denim with slacks and voila. You’ll be good to go. Your boss just might even give you a raise for making the company look so good.
