Planning a wedding in less than six months was the hardest yet most rewarding thing I’ve ever done. Looking back, I was so busy planning that I didn’t realize what was going on until the big day. I didn’t feel it until I got home from the salon that morning. Up until that point, it was just another day, getting my hair and makeup done as if I were going to someone else’s event. When I got home, 40 members of my family were at my house, around 20 of which were my family members who had flown in from the East Coast. That’s when it hit me- it’s our wedding day! The joy I felt seeing everyone I loved, all together in one place celebrating the love I had with my soon-to-be husband was magical.
Writing this post is bringing back all the cherished memories and happy tears. It’s one thing to find the love of your life, but another thing to get to share a day celebrating your love with your nearest and dearest family and friends. I really can’t describe the feeling. All I can say is that it is an overwhelming amount of happiness. Take your happiest moment and multiply it by a million. That’s what my big fat Armenian Wedding felt like.
